Assemblyman Dave Rible, Minority Whip, and Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini have been selected to serve on two new committees in the General Assembly.
Rible will continue to serve on the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee and will now serve on the Telecommunications and Utilities Committee as well. The Telecommunications and Utilities Committee is responsible for monitoring all segments of the telecommunications and utilities industry in New Jersey. The panel oversees issues affecting cable television, the Internet, public utilities, telecommunications technologies, and the energy industry.
“As a former police officer, I have greatly enjoyed working on the Law and Public Safety Committee and am proud that I can continue to utilize my law enforcement experience to contribute to this committee,” said Rible. “I am also looking forward to being a part of a new committee to help to tackle the issues concerning the telecommunications and energy industry.”
Assemblyman Rible is a former Wall Township Police Officer where he retired from active service in 1998. He served as a patrolman, hostage negotiator, crime prevention officer and forensic specialist. At the time of his retirement, he earned the rank of detective and accumulated numerous commendations and awards.
Angelini will remain a member of the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee and will now serve on the Human Services Committee.
“I am hopeful that my background in human services will prove to be beneficial to these committees,” said Angelini. “Serving on these committees will allow me to advocate for the health and wellbeing of the people I represent, including women and children.”
Assemblywoman Angelini is the executive director of a non-profit organization which provides educational programs and services to schools, businesses, and community organizations to counter the negative effects of drug abuse and violence in Monmouth County. Prior to being appointed executive director of Prevention First, she served as a program development specialist with Monmouth County's Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, where she coordinated Monmouth County's local coalitions to prevent substance abuse.
